Travel Options

We are so excited to have you join us for our wedding celebration May 30th, 2025  whether you are coming from near or far, we want you to feel at ease and fully immersed in the joy of the occasion!  We have put together all essential details you will need, including travel recommendations, accommodation options, and schedule of our planned activities. ​Please take a moment to review the information, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. 

By Air

  • Brussels Airport (BRU): The main international airport, located just 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic, from downtown Brussels and/or Grimbergen, offers numerous international flights.

  • Charleroi Airport (CRL): A popular low-cost airline hub located about 60 minutes south of Brussels. Take a TEC bus (line A) from Charleroi Airport to Charleroi South Station (Charleroi-Sud), then transfer to an Intercity (IC) train to Brussels Central Station.

  • Amsterdam Airport (AMS): One of Europe’s largest international airports. Take a Thalys or  Eurostar from the Airport to Brussels South Station (Midi), then transfer to an Intercity (IC) train to Brussels Central Station.

By Car

  • A car provides the most flexibility for your trip. Antwerp, Mechelen, and Grimbergen are all easily accessible via the highway from Brussels.

  • Parking is available at  Antwerp City Hall, Kasteel Sint-Michiels, and our place in Grimbergen.

  • From Brussels to Grimbergen takes about 20 minutes via the A12 highway. From Antwerp to Grimbergen via the E19 highway. The journey takes around 40–45 minutes, depending on traffic. From Mechelen to Grimbergen via the A12 highway. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. 

  • We kindly request that if you plan to drink at the reception, consider using a taxi,  Uber, or share a ride with one of our other guests.

By Train

  • Brussels South (Midi) - Brussels Central Station: Take a quick 10 min transfer on an Intercity (IC) train to Brussels Central Station.

  • Brussels Central Station - Antwerp Central Station: A quick 40-minute direct train ride. From there, it’s just a short walk, or 10-minute taxi ride to Antwerp City Hall.

  • Mechlen Station - Sint Katelijne Waver Station: A quick 30-minute direct train to Sint Katelijne , or 12-minute taxi side.

  • Brussels Central station - Grimbergen: Take a local train (S4 or S5) to Vilvoorde Station (approximately 15 minutes). From Vilvoorde, take a bus to Grimbergen Center, which takes another 15 minutes.​

  • Driving: If you prefer to rent a car, major rental agencies like Avis, Hertz, and Sixt are available at the various Airports.

  • Public Transport Tickets: Combined bus and train tickets can be purchased online via the SNCB website or at the train station.

  • Transport Between Locations: We will provide a shuttle service for a limited number of out-of-town guests from Grimbergen Center and Mechelen Train Station to Antwerp City Hall for the ceremony, and then to Kasteel Sint-Michiels for the reception. Uber and taxis will be available from the castle.
